In Chinese metaphysics, there are three forces that influence human life, namely the Heaven Factor, Earth Factor, and Human Factor. Each of them is also known as the three types of luck:
- Heavenly Luck (天时) : Heaven Luck is predetermined by God, including our condition such as our physical condition, family background, life partner, etc. Some people are born into wealthy families, some into average families, and some into poor families. In essence, whatever we obtain from this type of luck is clearly beyond our ability and senses.
- Earthly Luck (地利) : Earth Luck refers to the place where we reside, whether it’s our home or workplace, by utilizing the influence of Feng Shui energy of the place to conduct our daily activities. The parameters that can be used here are the suitability of the location in supporting various activities.
- Human Luck (人和) : Human Luck is the effort made by ourselves, whether physically, mentally, or emotionally. Our efforts such as perseverance, hard work, intelligence, and everything that comes from the individual will determine how much they will achieve. In essence, this type of luck is the result of one’s own actions.
If we look at the three types of luck above, there are only 2 that can be influenced by ourselves, namely earthly luck and humanly luck. This is where our Ancestors divide it into 5 factors, namely:
- Destiny (命), which is the outline of our life determined by God. There is a Chinese proverb that says Destiny cannot completely influence humans, on the contrary, humans also cannot completely change Destiny. There is an interplay between Destiny and human effort.
- Luck (运), refers to the ups and downs of one’s fortunes from decade to decade or from year to year, much like a wheel that spins, sometimes we’re on top, sometimes we’re at the bottom. Here we still have room to maneuver and improve our lives.
- Feng Shui (风水), which is about our own role in utilizing the energy of the environment where we live, so that we have good Feng Shui influence and can optimize our own luck.
- Charity (功德), refers to our charitable acts and virtues, including our daily behavior and attitudes, in order to perfect ourselves into useful human beings for the surrounding environment. By cultivating good karma, we will receive a good life in the future.
- Education (读书) which is the process of our daily learning, both formal and non-formal, in order to increase our insight, knowledge, and mindset in improving the quality of our own lives.
By discussing up to this point, we can understand that the five factors can be grouped as follows:
- Heavenly Luck, which is Destiny and Luck.
- Earthly Luck, which is Feng Shui.
- Human Luck, which is Charity and Education.
As we know, everything in this world is impermanent, including our fate as humans, which is always surrounded by these three types of luck. There is no guarantee from any Feng Shui master that maximizing the Feng Shui of your home will bring you good luck if your heavenly and human luck are low. Similarly, there is no guarantee from a Destiny Reader that having good heavenly luck will bring your life in abundance if your earthly and human luck are weak. Finally, there is no guarantee from yourself, even if you feel that your human luck – yourself – is optimal, if heavenly and earthly luck do not support you.
However, with information provided through Destiny Reading such as Ziwei Doushu, you can prepare for anything good or bad that may happen. Nevertheless, you still need to improve your Human Luck factor, which is your hard work, skills, and doing good deeds for others. Additionally, you can also improve your Feng Shui aspect, which is the place where you live and work. With these improvements, a good life awaits you in the future. 🙂
